“Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” - President Obama in his weekly address, Aug. 27, 2011

Partnering with Roseland School District
MCDS is partnering with Roseland School District in Santa Rosa to gather much-needed program materials for the teachers at Roseland Collegiate Prep (RCP), which burned down in the recent fires. As teachers return to the classroom, they are eager to provide students a bit of normalcy, though they are without books and materials needed to teach. Teachers have put together a list of specific items that they need. If you are able to provide any of the items (lightly used or new), please deliver them to Darcy Ellsworth Yow’s office (2nd floor of LRC, near Tech) by Friday, Nov. 17. Please put your name in the Google Doc to indicate the item you will fulfill and the quantity so that we might streamline the process and avoid overwhelming them with items that they don’t need. MCDS is also donating requested computers to Piner High School students who lost their home and we are exploring other avenues to support those who need it both now and in the long term. We know families are supporting those impacted by the fires in a multitude of ways, but we hope you’ll join us in supporting these teachers and students by donating any of these requested items.
Remember that there is also this doc HERE which has a helpful list of up-to-date resources on how to donate time, talent and treasure.
